Reus Airport
Environmental Management
Reus Airport is a complex devoted to air transport with the strategic goal of making a service of great economic and social importance compatible with the protection of the environment, preventing and correcting the environmental impact generated by its business activities.
Reus Airport assigns the resources needed to fulfil its commitment to strict compliance with current legislation on the environment. This challenge is reflected in the certification of its environmental management system in accordance with the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2004 standard, awarded in 2004 after an audit by the certifying body Aenor.
The primary goal of the EMS is to develop and implement Aena's environmental policy and manage its environmental aspects while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and others to which the airport is a signatory, regarding environmental aspects and continuous improvement. In this way, the airport management hopes to minimise the environmental impact of the airport on its surroundings. The scope of the EMS includes management and maintenance of airport facilities and infrastructure, and the airport services provided by Aena in Reus Airport.
The airport has published its environmental management report since 2010 in order to document and publicise its work regarding the environment.
