Santiago Airport
Introduction
Santiago airport is located approximately ten kilometres to the Northeast of the city, in the municipalities of Santiago de Compostela, O Pino and Boqueixon, in the province of A Coruña.
In October 2011, the Ministry of Public Works, through Aena Aeropuertos, opened a new infrastructure to multiply capacity and operational capability and to improve the quality of airport services. The new terminal, new car park, new access roads, along with the extended aircraft apron, new power plant and new control tower will enable 4 million passengers to be served with the maximum guarantees of safety, quality and service.
In 2012, Santiago Airport recorded 2,194,811 passengers, 19,509 aircraft movements and 1,816 tonnes of cargo.
