The retail development of airports is a basic objective of Aena Aeropuertos. Thus, the Retail Area and Service Management has prepared planning and development plans for the retail, catering and entertainment product.

Thanks to the market research carried out in each airport, Aena Aeropuertos has developed a marketing plan that makes market segmentation and the positioning of the new additional retail range easier, with shops to suit the "target public" in each airport.

During the planning stage, the Retail Area and Service Management also co-operates with the Infrastructure Directorate in all areas involved in the extension of terminal buildings to ensure the implementation of future retail services in terms of better sites, greater profitability and a better adaptation of the design of the range to the architectural environment.

Once these aspects have been decided upon, the extension and alterations are started to optimise the retail and service range and, therefore, adapt it to customer demands under the premises of quality and profitability.
