In the field of aeronautics, Aena Aeropuertos Internacional develops various projects to support Aena in forging business alliances with other European air navigation service providers.

Aena Aeropuertos Internacional manages Aena's holding in ESSP (European Satellite Service Provider), made up of the main European air navigation providers and which aspires to become the future operator-provider of the EGNOS system.

Until 2010, Aena Aeropuertos Internacional was responsible for the participation assigned to Aena in developing the Galileo project. This year, as a consequence of the reformulation of the participation strategy defined by the Ministry of Public Works, the Galileo office of Aena Aeropuertos Internacional disappeared, and its resources will be redirected to activities supporting its parent company in air navigation.

Finally, Aena Aeropuertos Internacional's In-flight Checking Unit (Unidad de Verificación en Vuelo (UVV)) began operation in 2008, periodically checking Aena's radio assistance network.
