As the author rightly says in his introduction, this book is designed to show us how to distinguish between the wide variety of commercial aircraft now in use. While there are directories and highly technical books available which specify all the characteristics of aircraft, it is not so easy to find a book which shows us just how to differentiate apparently very similar planes using elements such as the shape of wings, rudders or engines.
